Warning: Salmonella in eggs
Salmonella has been detected in eggs sold by Migros. A health hazard cannot be ruled out. The FSVO recommends not to consume these eggs.
As part of the self-monitoring process Salmonella was detected in eggs. Migros immediately took the affected eggs from sale and made a recall. Affected eggs are recognizable as follows:
- Eggs with the stamp code: 1-CH231 (marking directly on the egg)
- The affected eggs may be contained in the following packs:

Only brown eggs are affected. The eggs were on sale in the following Migros cooperatives: Migros Aare, Neuchâtel/Fribourg, Geneva and Migros Vaud. The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) recommends consumers not to consume the affected eggs.
Salmonella info
Salmonella are Bacteriawhich cause diseases in humans and animals (so-called zoonotic pathogens). In humans, they can cause febrile gastrointestinal diseases with vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps within 6 to 72 hours. Persons who have already consumed affected eggs should consult their family doctor if the above symptoms occur.
