How digital is Switzerland?
"digital.swiss" is the name of the new platform that sums up the progress of digitization in Switzerland. This is according to ICTswitzerland, which launched the platform.
Digitalization is increasingly driving innovation in business and society. Proactively seizing the opportunities presented by this transformation is essential to positioning Switzerland as an innovative and competitive business location in the future. To achieve this goal, the ICTswitzerland in cooperation with Accenture created the interactive platform "digital.swiss," which provides information on the current status and progress of digitization in Switzerland and reveals potential for future action initiatives.
The new "digital.swiss" index, which is at the heart of the new platform, is based on a scorecard covering 15 topic areas such as. Securityhealth, mobility and education. In each topic area, specific indicators relating to digitization are gathered from various studies. The continuously updated index represents the current status and further development of digitization in Switzerland, emphasizes ICTswitzerland.
For the first time, a representative survey asked the Swiss population about their perception of digitization and openness to new technologies. Digitalization is seen as an opportunity for the economy and society by significantly more than 60% of respondents. The respondents also agreed on the subject of education: 90% thought that the basics of technologies should be taught in school; 70% thought that there should also be special courses for senior citizens.
ICTswitzerland hopes that the platform will bring together experts and interested visitors to exchange opinions and discuss the results of the monitoring. For the joint further development of the platform, the organization recommends uploading and presenting current third-party projects, studies and events in the area of digitization.
Within the framework of the professional event CeBIT will be presented on March 14, 2016 digital.swiss.
