An above-average number of people over the age of 65 are seriously injured in these accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Sales of e-bikes have increased sharply in recent years, especially compared to bicycles. Parallel to this trend, accidents involving e-bikes have also increased sharply. Of the e-bike riders involved in serious accidents, 55 percent are over 65 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The Zurich Cantonal Police is now taking various measures as part of its \"Fewer Senior Accidents\" campaign. In particular, courses are to be held to make e-bike riders aware of the special features of electric bikes and to train them in riding techniques. In addition, posters are to be used to raise awareness of the dangers among all road users.
