The conference will continue to be held as a hybrid event with participation either on site in Zurich or remotely via livestream.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Fire protection is always caught between the conflicting priorities of usage risks, building types, safety-related conflicts of interest, cost pressure and technical innovation. The upcoming fire protection regulations (BSV 2026) will also create a new legal basis - combined with fresh thinking and new opportunities.<\/p>\n

The tragic event in Crans-Montana and the more than 11,000 responses received to the technical consultation are known to have led to a further delay in the entry into force of the completely revised BSV 2026 (expected in fall 2027 according to the IOTH). The developers of the regulation have promised to carefully incorporate the preliminary findings and suggestions.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the \u00abFire protection planning meets engineering\u00bb conference offers a wide range of insights into current developments in fire protection: How do risk-based economic assessments help to avoid overfitting in fire protection? What expectations does the intervention have of planners and engineers for more effective fire protection? And how does the fire protection authority demonstrate the potential of the performance-based approach using the example of smoke and heat management? Natural fire simulations open up new dimensions in the design of load-bearing structures in the event of fire. Projects are used to illustrate the possibilities for high-rise buildings with unprotected steel or composite structures, for example.<\/p>\n

The BSV 2026 will come. Individual aspects are part of the conference. For example: What innovations does the \u00abBSV 2026 Model Code\u00bb bring and what is the risk-based core based on? Practical examples of how the model code can be applied in practice will also be presented.<\/p>\n

The clear distinction between escape and evacuation is also discussed - an aspect that goes far beyond traditional fire protection. Finally, the topic of artificial intelligence looks to the future: AI reads regulations, assists with verifications and makes complex regulations easier to understand. What opportunities will this open up for professionals?<\/p>\n

The conference provides impulses, answers and food for thought. It offers perspectives that go beyond individual projects - and it shows where fire protection is currently heading.<\/p>\n
