The fact that Building Information Modeling (BIM) is increasingly being used is also shown by this example: The Federal Roads Office (Astra) has awarded the contract for the shell construction of the enclosure of the A1 in Zurich-Schwamendingen, worth around 200 million Swiss francs, to the EHS consortium (Arge). The consortium consists of the four partners Implenia, Marti Bauunternehmung, Walo Bertschinger and Anliker. The main construction lot includes, among other things, the special civil engineering, earthworks, surfacing, concrete, repair and works management work required for the shell construction. The joint venture has already used the BIM method in the tendering phase. However, BIM will also be used in execution, which is a first in Swiss infrastructure construction, Implenia writes. Construction work will begin in spring 2019 and last until 2024, creating a shell for the entrance to the city via the Zurich North freeway using the cut-and-cover method.<\/p>\n

With the Enclosure<\/a> of the N01\/40 national road between the Aubrugg freeway junction and the Sch\u00f6neichtunnel over a length of just under one kilometer, an approximately 30-meter-wide utility building will be created that is unique in Switzerland. A continuous green and meeting space on the roof of the structure, the future overland park, will be accessible to the neighborhood population via ramps, stairs and lifts. The enclosure is intended to reconnect the divided neighborhood in the same way as a wildlife crossing and, on top of that, become a recreational zone.<\/p>\n

BIM Congress<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the third time, \"Bauen digital Schweiz\" is holding the BIM Congress<\/a> by. It will take place on November 8 and 9 at the Congress Center Basel. The novelty this year: The Swissbau team is contributing its experience to the organization of the event. Markus Weber, President of \"Bauen digital Schweiz\", says: \"Swissbau 2018 already showed through the Innovation Lab that BIM has arrived in the Swiss construction industry.\"<\/p>\n

At the two-day event - with congress, camp, award and exhibition - the current topics on the digital transformation of the construction industry will be discussed with industry experts. On the first day, the congress will feature the Arc-Award BIM, showcasing the best BIM projects in Switzerland. At the symposium on November 8, decision-makers from business and politics will meet leading experts and define the next steps in the digitalization of the Swiss construction and real estate industry.
