Back to old greatness - including the security industry
Swissbau, the leading platform for the construction and real estate industry in Switzerland, will be held in Basel from January 16 to 19, 2024. The Safety Congress will be held in parallel.
Swissbau is to return to what it was before the pandemic: a major event that represents the entire value chain of the construction industry and its suppliers. When the special edition of Swissbau Compac is held in May 2022, it is not clear whether this small format has done more harm than good, said Claudia Ries, Head of Communications, at the recent media conference. She promised that a full program would be offered at the four-day trade fair from January 16 to 19, 2024 - and expects around 500 exhibitors. The security industry will also be present. It will be located in Hall 1 South on the second floor, together with exhibitors from the electrical engineering and building automation sectors.
Interdisciplinary meeting points
The Swissbau motto for 2024 is: "Shaping change together". The Swiss construction and real estate industry is confronted with various changes. Digitalization, energy, sustainability, materials and collaboration are the keywords. The trade fair will be opened by Federal Councilor Albert Rösti and Bauenschweiz, the umbrella organization of the Swiss construction industry.
In addition to the classic presentation of innovations and solutions, Swissbau offers two interdisciplinary meeting points with Swissbau Focus and Lab. According to Rudolf Pfander of Swissbau, the focus will be on knowledge transfer, with "discussion", i.e. Focus, and "trial and error", i.e. Lab, representing the cornerstones. The two platforms will highlight topics such as climate, energy, the circular economy, materials, collaboration and society.
Leading partners of Swissbau are Bauen digital Schweiz / building¬SMART Switzerland and the SIA, Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects.
Security Congress
For a few years now, the safety congress organized by the Save AG conference company has been held in parallel with the trade fair. At the Congress Center Basel, around 30 speakers will present their knowledge on safety, fire protection and occupational safety in 5 half-day modules. The individual topic blocks of the half-day modules are as follows:
- Building well designed and safe! (16.01.)
- Threats and new security technologies (Jan. 17)
- New energy technologies and fire protection! (17.01.)
- Trends in building security (18.01.)
- Occupational safety during operation (18.01.)
