Il avait conserv\u00e9 la batterie de r\u00e9serve de sa cigarette \u00e9lectronique dans la poche de son pantalon, avec des pi\u00e8ces de monnaie et un trousseau de cl\u00e9s. Un court-circuit s'est produit et la batterie s'est transform\u00e9e en lance-flammes.<\/p>\n<p>Marcel Held, expert en batteries de l'Empa, a reproduit la situation en laboratoire pour l'\u00e9quipe de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision de la SRF : Il retire le film isolant d'un accumulateur lithium-ion de taille standard 18650 et place l'accumulateur dans un gobelet rempli d'\u00e9crous. Derri\u00e8re une vitre de protection, dans une hotte chimique, Held remplit ensuite le gobelet avec quelques pi\u00e8ces de 5 centimes (voir aussi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?time_continue=5&amp;v=g-d5PJoMzbs\">Film vid\u00e9o<\/a> \u00e0 cet effet). Le contact sup\u00e9rieur de l'accumulateur, qui \u00e9tait jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent libre, est ainsi \u00e9galement contact\u00e9. Un court-circuit se produit et, au bout de dix secondes \u00e0 peine, l'accumulateur met fin \u00e0 ses jours dans un feu d'artifice d'environ 30 centim\u00e8tres de haut.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Pr\u00e9vu uniquement pour le montage dans des packs de batteries<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Les accumulateurs de taille standard 18650 portent l'avertissement \"DANGER - DO NOT USE OUTSIDE OF BATTERY PACK\". De tels accumulateurs sont uniquement destin\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans des packs de batteries d'ordinateurs portables, d'outils \u00e9lectriques, de v\u00e9los \u00e9lectriques ou de voitures. Ils ne devraient pas \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s ou transport\u00e9s sans enveloppe de protection suppl\u00e9mentaire. En effet, l'isolation de l'accu standard 18650 n'est constitu\u00e9e que d'une fine feuille de plastique. Si l'isolation \u00e0 l'extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure du cylindre de l'accu est endommag\u00e9e, par exemple par un trousseau de cl\u00e9s, une seule pi\u00e8ce de monnaie suffit pour court-circuiter le p\u00f4le positif avec le bo\u00eetier de la batterie.
