Se necessario, devono esaminare e attuare misure per ridurre il rischio.<\/p>\n<p>Le vie di trasporto su cui vengono trasportate merci pericolose sono soggette all'Ordinanza sugli incidenti rilevanti. Questo prescrive misure di sicurezza per proteggere la popolazione e l'ambiente. Mentre i rischi per la popolazione sono stati registrati da tempo, l'UFT, in stretta collaborazione con le ferrovie, ha ora valutato sistematicamente anche i rischi per l'ambiente e li ha documentati in un rapporto. Secondo l'UFT, la Svizzera sta assumendo un ruolo pionieristico in tutta Europa.<\/p>\n<p>Il rapporto mostra quali sono le tratte che presentano maggiori rischi di contaminazione delle acque sotterranee e superficiali. I rischi ambientali sono stati analizzati sulla base di inquinanti idrici caratteristici con comportamenti diversi. Sulla rete a scartamento normale di 3652 chilometri, sono state individuate 42 sezioni di acque superficiali e 10 chilometri di acque sotterranee da esaminare in profondit\u00e0. Le ferrovie analizzeranno ora le tratte interessate insieme all'UFT, all'Ufficio federale dell'ambiente e alle autorit\u00e0 cantonali preposte alla gestione degli incidenti.
