The most pleasant cold is the one that doesn't catch you. With these tips you can prevent a cold.

  1. Nutrition: With a balanced diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, you are equipped with enough minerals and vitamins to build a powerful immune system. Regular walks, sauna sessions and alternating baths also help to strengthen the immune system.
  2. Wash handsMost infections occur via the hands. If you touch a doorknob that was previously used by a sick person and rub your nose or eyes afterwards, you open the door to bacteria and viruses. Therefore: Wash your hands regularly with soap and keep your fingers away from your face!
  3. Drink a lot: To form a protective barrier, the mucous membranes must be well moistened. Therefore, drink plenty of fluids. Water and teas with immune-boosting substances such as ginger or lime blossom are particularly suitable.
  4. Provide heat: Although you don't catch a cold from the cold alone, pathogens feel more at home in cooler temperatures - and the mucous membranes have poorer blood circulation in the cold. Therefore, dress warmly and protect your airways with a scarf in severe cold. If you are frozen through after a walk, warm foot baths help to bring warmth back into the body.
  5. Avoid stressToo little sleep and stress lower the immune system. Allow yourself regular rest breaks, make sure you get a sufficiently long night's rest and prefer to plan big events such as a wedding in the summer.
  6. Fresh airRegular forced ventilation helps to remove pathogens from the room air to the outside. Also make sure that the air in the room is not too dry. Humidifiers can help here.
