Feeling good thanks to body-centered work
Numerous investigations and studies have shown that a well thought-out office concept significantly increases work performance, reduces sick days and considerably improves employees' sense of satisfaction. One concept is body-centered work (KZA).
With the KZA method screen-based office workstations designed to meet the different prerequisites and needs of employees. The KZA concept has now been awarded the "Tested & Recommended" seal of approval by Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR) e. V., a registered association that guarantees back-friendly everyday solutions.
Well-being at work
The aim of KZA is to increase work performance. The method assumes an interaction between physical perception, office furniture used and the Work motivation of the employees. The decisive factor is that the employee feels comfortable at his or her workplace. Increased productivity is to be achieved by optimizing the sequence of actions, thereby reducing signs of fatigue and pain such as Back problems are to be reduced. The hands are the proverbial center of attention and all work tools are arranged within reach. The concept comprises three steps:
- A workplace analysis to determine the mass of people and furniture.
- Providing technical options such as input devices and furniture and adjusting them to individual body proportions.
- The activation of depth sensitivity, self-awareness of the body.
In addition to the monitor arm, desk and input devices, central elements in the workplace design include a desk back and the AGR-certified Active board GYMBA.
More dynamics in standing
That a regular alternation of sitting and standing has a positive influence on back health is well known. What is new is the approach of making standing activities as dynamic as possible. The GYMBA active board provides automatic movement impulses. The convex curved base plate generates constant tilting movements to both sides due to a hardly noticeable instability. This "walking while standing" addresses the same muscle groups as conventional walking, so the body also benefits from the same positive effects. In addition, the activation board counteracts muscular imbalances, so it ensures that all muscle groups are equally stressed.
