Burglar alarm technology: VdS 2311 now applies
According to the BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik, a new VdS guideline comes into play for the planning and installation of burglar alarm systems.
On December 31, 2018, the transition period for the guideline VdS 2311: 2010-11 on planning and installation of intrusion detection systems including its supplements S1 and S2 ended. According to the BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik (Federal Association for Security Technology), therefore, as of January 1, 2019, only VdS 2311: 2017-04 and associated with it, remote alarming via the IP transmission paths SP4 and DP4 apply.
No suitable transmission devices on the market yet
For this transmission method, there is currently not yet a sufficient range of suitable transmission devices available on the market. Therefore, the newly defined requirements could not yet be comprehensively fulfilled, according to the BHE.
The VdS has now informed that for this reason IP connections according to VdS 2311: 2010-11 may continue to be used until SP4 or DP4 connections are technically feasible. For this purpose - after prior coordination with the insurer - the compensable deviation described here to be applied according to VdS. Installers would have to use the new installation certificate VdS 2170: 2017-04 and document the compensable deviation in section D using the ID no. 0011.
