Organized crime: fedpol annual report 2025
The Annual Report 2025 is online. It provides an insight into cases, operations and figures on the work of the Federal Office of Police (fedpol) - with a particular focus on the fight against organized crime and its various manifestations.

Human traffickers who exploit their victims in areas such as sex work; criminal organizations that launder illegal funds by investing in real estate and luxury goods; cyber criminals who target Swiss websites and young people who are recruited for criminal acts via social media. Organized crime (OC) has many faces - fedpol is taking decisive action against it.
This is demonstrated by the cases in which the Annual Report 2025 provides an in-depth insight. It sheds light on cooperation with partner authorities, presents key police work tools and provides an outlook for the current year. This includes the development of the National Action Plan to combat organized crime by the end of 2026.
From international searches and state visits to parcel bombs
In addition to combating OC, fedpol is active in other areas of internal security in Switzerland:
- An internationally wanted suspect lived under various aliases in several European countries - until he was identified and arrested in Switzerland thanks to reliable biometric information systems.
- Against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions, Switzerland is particularly challenged as a diplomatic hub: 1305 persons protected under international law were protected by fedpol and its partner authorities in 2025.
- Following extortion and bomb attacks in the watch sector in Geneva, fedpol and the cantonal police of Geneva formed a joint task force. As part of the international cooperation, specialists from Europol were called in, among others. Modern analysis tools for tracking cryptocurrency transactions made a decisive contribution to the success of the investigation.
These and other examples show: National and international cooperation is key to fighting crime effectively. This is also confirmed by the figures in the 2025 Annual Report: thousands of search hits in the Schengen Information System, several hundred entry bans and over 20,000 suspicious activity reports in connection with money laundering, terrorist financing and funds of criminal origin.
