Stress in Swiss companies

Stress and burnout phenomena are among the largest causes of illness-related costs in Swiss companies. The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) calculates that absenteeism, sickness and disability costs cost the national economy 4.2 billion Swiss francs annually.

A representative study on Stress of Swiss employees by SECO (2010) revealed that 34 % of all employees feel stressed frequently to very frequently. This is 30 % more than ten years ago. 31 % state that their health is impaired by their work; 17 % suffer health impairments due to Stress at work.
